Fairies will be taking over Miami on 07-0707
Led by Atena Komar a local artist, Fairies from all over the country will be gathering in Miami to celebrate a most unusual day.

Miami, FL May 10, 2007 – Tinker Bell has nothing on these Miami Fairies. Traditionally Fairies are enchanting and mischievous fun loving spirits who enjoy music, art, and living harmoniously with nature. July 7th, 2007 is the luckiest day of the century! To celebrate this magickal day, local artist and spiritualist, Atena Komar created the Tropical Fairy, Sacred Sevens Selebration. Not only do we celebrate we do it with our wings on!

The Tropical Fairy Sacred Sevens Selebration is a spiritually centered mainstream event designed to promote environmental awareness and inner healing through joy and celebration. The Fairies help people of all walks of life and ages to build a bridge between reality and fantasy, leading us towards a more balanced life experience through fun filled, lighthearted celebration 

The number 7 is the center of fairy magic and most sacred number to the fae. It is also a high power number in many other aspects of spirituality and even superstition. This sacred number occurring three times in the date is considered to be the midpoint, the peak or the high point of the millennium. The best day to raise positive energy and a most welcoming reason for a fae gathering.  This magical day only happen once every 1000 years, and for the seventh to fall on a Saturday is even more special - this will not happen again for many generations. It is reason enough for all fairy kindred spirits to celebrate... and so we shall! 

In the spirit of the Tropical Fairy Festival, we plan to gather for the Sacred Sevens Selebration to honor this very special day. The One day Festival will take place on Saturday 07- 07- 07, 10am to 7pm  at the UU Sanctuary and Garden, 7701 SW 76th Ave. Just off Sunset Dr. and the Palmetto Expressway in Miami, FL.  

With a not so small army of entertainers the fairies will help everyone celebrate with silly fairy games, enlightening workshops, and fairy activities. Guests are encouraged to put on their fairy best to join the fairy, elf and green-man costume contests and bring their drums and musical instruments to join the Sacred Sevens Drumming Circle. This Sacred Sevens Selebration is a precursor to the this years second annual Tropical Fairy Festival held on October 12-14th, 2007 at the historic Coral Castle. With the explosion of comic book movies and the boom in popularity of Disney’s Princess Line, it was only natural for Fairies to have a turn in the spotlight. From Tinker Bell to the lovable Hobbits of the Shire, Fairies have always been around to make us smile and remind us to enjoy life. The Tropical Fairy Festival brings together Miami’s community of free spirits, nature lovers, healers, artists, performers and musicians to celebrate fairy philosophy and magic. Last year’s inaugural festival had over 1000 attendees, vendors, and performers. This year’s festival gets bigger and better with more entertainers, continuous fairy games, workshops and activities. 

The Tropical Fairy Festival similar to other Fairy Festivals and conventions held through out the world provides the community with an opportunity to dress up (attendees are encouraged to wear Fairy costume) and enjoy a weekend in an enchanted realm full of ethereal beings and magic, providing an excellent opportunity for families to spend the day in a fun, healthy environment with many activities for children and parents. Games and entertainment take place throughout the day, many focusing on teaching about nature and positive behavior.
